ABOUT ME: Originally from Malaysia, I feel blessed to have been living almost 10 years now in New Zealand. The Land of the Long White Cloud is indeed a very, very, beautiful country and here on the amazing West Coast we experience many contrasts of weather and environment that make it a photographer’s paradise.
While I have spent 20 years as a professional Quantity Surveyor, photography has always been my real passion. Since that fateful day in 1999 when I bought my first Nikon SLR – yes a 35mm film camera – the digital world dawned too soon after and DSLR took over like a storm making my SLR almost obsolete. My first DSLR was a Ricoh, followed by a Lumix and now I am the happy owner of a (mirrorless) Sony A6000.
I prefer to use natural light, so most of my photos are taken without a flash. I also believe in capturing the moment as I see it, with minimal post-processing. Although I do sometimes like to play with the awesome effects post-processing can offer, often giving a little ‘punch’ to an otherwise not so interesting image. Some examples; HDR, turning a photo into a painting or a sketch, a toy miniature effect, etc to create an art piece. After all, photography is also art.
Thank you for visiting me online and please feel free to drop me a message or email if you have a project you would like to discuss. I would love to hear from you.
